About Us
SCC (Specified Commodity Carriers, Inc.) is a fourth generation family owned and operated trucking company currently owned by Dale Shipley. In 1930 Harvey R. Shipley began hauling farm products from Westminster to Baltimore. Harvey R. Shipley & Sons was founded in 1949 and Incorporated in 1955. In 1973 the company began operating as SCC.
In 2000, Dale Shipley, the grandson of Harvey R. Shipley purchased both companies. In 2023 there are three generations actively employed at SCC.
SCC is a member of MMTA (Maryland Motor Truck Association), a SmartWay transport partner and has authority in 48 states. SCC hauls general commodities, limestone products, paper products and mass transit material.
